Federal Abortion Laws
When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade in 2022, it returned the issue of abortion back to the individual states, which is where it belongs.
Some in Congress have proposed a federal law banning abortions. Janet McNulty is against any federal law regarding the issue of abortion. Individual states should decide the issue within their own borders, deciding what restrictions, if any, will be imposed.
There is no reason to open the door for federal laws regarding abortions. Those who wish to ban them federally, are not only pandering to their base, but fail to realize that they are playing into the pro-abortionists’ hands by setting a precedent for the federal government to get involved in an issue that is best decided by the individual states, which will set the stage for them to pass pro-abortion laws, with no restrictions, if they ever achieve the majority within the House and the Senate.
The 10th Amendment was created for a reason. This is why, though pro-life, Janet McNulty believes that the issue of abortion should remain with the individual states and the federal government should stay out of it. This allows each state to better serve its constituents.
